Despite being outnumbered in Congress by a huge Democrat majority, the Republican Party is successfully fighting Barack Obama’s socialized health care bill. Republicans in Congress have remained united in their opposition to ObamaCare. The GOP realizes how this radical legislation would change our country’s future. Now, the RNC is stepping up its efforts with $1 million in radio ads targeting 60 vulnerable Democrats. The radio ads will focus on the swing states of Arizona, Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. In addition, the RNC is running television ads in Arkansas, Nevada and North Dakota.
According to RNC spokeswoman Gail Gitcho, “The Democrats targeted by the RNC radio ad have campaigned on fiscal responsibility, and now these Democrats are being held accountable to their campaign promises as they prepare to vote on a government-run health care bill that will cost American taxpayers $1.6 trillion, add to the record budget deficit and burden American families and small businesses with higher taxes.”
I hope the pressure from these ads on the targeted lawmakers will be effective. Congressmen know that their constituents are the ones who ultimately determine their political futures, not Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid.
