Cameron Hamilton: It's a humanitarian crisis

From 2020 until 2023, I served as Division Director of Emergency Medical Services at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

In that role, I managed about 4,000 EMTs who were tasked with providing medical care along our Southern Border.

I started the position under President Trump… and then had a front seat view to the changes that happened along our border the day after President Biden took office.

The Biden administration reversed President Trump's effective policies on the border, and our border security devolved as rapidly as Biden could stroke his pen.

Now, illegal crossings at our border are reaching a new record high every month. Worse, the number deaths associated with illegal crossings has doubled in the three years of Biden's administration over the prior four years under President Trump.

The situation on our Southern Border is nothing short of an invasion…

But it's also a humanitarian crisis, for which the Biden administration is culpable.

I saw it first-hand working at DHS, and it's only getting worse with each passing month.

This administration is willfully opposed to securing our border. They've undone everything we achieved under the Trump administration.

It's time for Congress to exercise the power of the purse, and fund meaningful and effective border security.

It's one of the reasons I'm running for Congress, and it's the reason I'm asking you to join with me today. Before our government spends more time and resources on funding a war in Ukraine, we need to put those resources towards our security here at home.

It's time to end the invasion, and the humanitarian crisis, that Joe Biden has brought to our Southern Border.
