Middle Resolution: The General Assembly is in Session

The 2024 General Assembly session has begun and already there are election bills that we want to make you aware of. The Senate Privileges and Elections Committee will meet this Tuesday afternoon at the conclusion of the floor session.

Senate Ebbins (D) will be introducing SB 364. This bill seeks to create severe criminal penalties for offenses against election officials and election office staff.

This bill is a false narrative that the left is promoting in an effort to intimidate and suppress the participation of volunteers in our election process. Thousands of volunteers all across Virginia have acted as poll watchers and officers of elections and have worked hand in hand with registrars and election office staff without incident.

In fact, as Democrats have made the work of the Registrar's office complicated and burdensome, it is the efforts of volunteers, like many of you, who have provided important assistance in localities across Virginia during the long election "season."

We urge you to oppose this bill. Please call and email the members of the Senate Privileges and Elections Committee before noon on Tuesday and express your OPPOSITION TO SB 364.
