Throwing away a nomination: There will be no quid pro quo from Democrats

Guest Columnist Richard Ellis

Mr. President:

You absolutely must withdraw the wobbly Webb/Warner proposed nomination of - above all things - a democrat! [Anthony Trenga]

When has Senator Harry Reid come across the isle to you?

Did you get assurances of a floor vote on at least one of your nominees?

I'll wager they all - everyone of them - remain in limbo through the end of your term.

You have been a "Good Guy" for eight years. What has this done for your approval rating?

I have been for you, and I remain your supporter, but please pull this back. One aging, retiring U.S. senator does not have to have this farewell gift. We can do him homage in other, more appropriate ways.
