ACTION: Please ask your Senator and Delegate to Co-Patron the bill
Now is the time to begin lobbying your own Senator and Delegate to actually co-patron the Choose Life license plate bill along with Senator Cuccinelli. Below are instructions or your use.If you prefer to make a telephone call rather than send e-mail, the phone number for your Senator and Delegate during the Session are shown on the page that you will see as you follow the instructions below. If you call when the Senator's or Delegate's Administrative Assistant is out, the General Assembly Constituent Viewpoint phone operators in Richmond will transcribe your name, address and message then e-mail your message to your Senator's and Delegate's office. Please feel free to slowly speak your message to the operator or voicemail. As you communicate, please be kind and direct, it is most effective and appreciated.

To monitor the progress of SB801
1. Click on this link: http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-
2. Click on "All Patrons" at the top to see if your Senator or Delegate has signed on as a Co-Patron. Other "blue text" words on this page are links to bill language, committee actions including votes and more. Hope you will enjoy monitoring the progress.
3. Please note that we will be replacing the introduced bill language with new bill language as soon as the Transportation Committee Chair permits the introduction of our amendment, which could be as early as this Thursday January 15, but not likely.
4. The Senate Transportation Committee regularly meets on Thursdays at 2 pm; updates are usually posted by sometime Friday morning. Last year the Senate Transportation Committee did not consider license plate bills until their last meeting on Senate bills; that date this year is February 5, so it could be that long before the bill is first considered.
5. You can see the Transportation Committee meeting dockets by clicking on the blue line under "Status" 09/02/08 Senate: Referred to Committee on Transportation or that link and then click on the blue text "committee dockets".
6. Hopefully this process will allow you to find answers to most all questions you have about the bill and its progress. You will know as much as we do if you monitor this way, because this it how we monitor too.
