Will the ACLU remain silent?
More anti-Christian left-wing and state-run media bias awaits us this month...
Next Up -- The Jummah Prayer
"The 9/12 Tea Party is over. But in two weeks, tens of thousands of Muslims will gather in Washington, D.C., to hold Friday Jummah prayers on Capitol Hill. The event is being organized by the Dar-ul-Islam mosque in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Their goal is to bring 50,000 Muslims to the nation’s capitol for a massive outdoor Friday prayer service on September 25th.
Hassen Abdellah, president of the Dar-ul-Islam mosque, said of the event, “Most of the time, when Muslims go to Washington, D.C., they go there to protest… This is not a protest. Never has the Islamic community prayed on Capitol Hill for the soul of America. We’re Americans. We need to change the face of Islam so people don’t feel every Muslim believes America is ‘the great Satan,’ because we love America.”
If true, Mr. Abdellah’s remarks are encouraging. So why I am skeptical that this crowd will denounce the Islamofascists who call America “the great Satan.” Constitutionally, he has every right to host this event on Capitol Hill, just as other faiths regularly host prayer events in Washington, D.C., such as the National Day of Prayer.
But I have to wonder how the event will be received by the political Left and the media. Will Americans United for the Separation of Church State protest this religious gathering on Capitol Hill? How about the ACLU?
When Promise Keepers held a huge rally in Washington more than ten years ago, the media’s reaction was unbelievably biased. There was story after story about oppressing women and minorities, and the evils of theocracies. I wonder: Will the media talk about the status of women in Sharia law? Will the media report that the only theocracies in existence today are found in Muslim nations? Will the media talk about religious liberty and the persecution of minorities in majority Muslim nations?
Of course, you and I know the answer to those questions. It has become fashionable in elite circles to bash Christianity and traditional values. Meanwhile, political correctness demands we dare not criticize radical Islam – the movement that inspired the 9/11 attackers, breeds homicide bombers and nurtures anti-Semitic and anti-Christian bigotry throughout the world."
