Congressman Good Update: Bringing Back Accountability

Condemning Anti-Semitism on College Campuses

This week, I participated in a hearing in the Education and Workforce Committee on antisemitism on college campuses, with university presidents from Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, and MIT. There have been numerous instances of antisemitic speech, protests, and threats of violence from Hamas-sympathizers on university campuses. Unfortunately, in todays climate the woke left would rather err on the side of the mob than protect their student's right to safety. Rather than taking action to protect Jewish students at their respective schools, these presidents only provide lip service and continue to pander to the violent pro-Hamas sympathizers on their campuses. Unfortunately, the presidents refused to provide substantive answers to the questions posed during the hearing.

It's wrong to suggest that antisemitism and so-called Islamophobia are equivalent problems in this country. However, there is a deeply troubling tendency by many on the left in Congress, the media, and academia who try to somehow conflate or equate the two. Often it is Jewish Americans or Israelis who, whenever they are attacked or victimized, are accused of being the oppressors. It is abhorrent and unconscionable to suggest that somehow innocent civilians in Israel deserved to be brutally massacred on October 7.

On the Floor

I voted to nullify President Biden's attempt to implement a new $276 billionstudent loan transfer scheme. Many of my constituents paid their own way through college, while others didn't go to college because they couldn't afford it. They should not be forced to pay for other people's college education.

I voted in favor of The Choice in Automobile Retail Sales (CARS) Act, which would reverse a Biden EPA regulation that is part of the Administration's efforts to mandate electric vehicles and eliminate the production of gas-powered vehicles.

I voted in favor of the DETERRENT Act because it holds public universities accountable for the money foreign entities are giving them. Education is a battleground for influence, and the American people should see who is buying access to our students.

I spoke once again on the House Floor about the desperate need for us to reduce government spending and address our unprecedented fiscal crisis. President Biden's policies are crushing American families with higher grocery prices, gas prices, interest rates, housing costs, utility costs. We must meet the moment and do what is necessary to save our country.
