Continuing the Freedom Fight It is my privilege and honor to have been elected by my colleagues to serve as the next House Freedom Caucus chairman. I thank Rep. Scott Perry (PA) for his outstanding leadership of the caucus, and I look forward to building on the work he has done over the past two years. |
On the FloorThis week on the House Floor, I voted for a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden's alleged corrupt business dealings. House committees have uncovered evidence of aliases used by, and payments made to, President Biden that are connected to his family's overseas business activities. These preliminary findings justify a full investigation. The American people deserve to know whether the President received payments, directly or indirectly, from foreign entities in exchange for promises of official acts. |
Guarding Small Businesses from OverregulationI introduced a new bill this week, the Rein in the EPA Act, which would protect small business owners across America from being burdened by unnecessary emissions reporting to Washington bureaucrats. The Biden Administration continues its assault on business owners to push a radical climate agenda. My legislation fights back against the EPA's regulatory tentacles and protects small businesses from unduly burdensome compliance requirements. The last thing our economy needs is more Federal Government intrusion. |
Advocating for the American WorkforceOn Tuesday, the House Education and Workforce Committee held a "markup" and voted to pass my bill, the Small Businesses Before Bureaucrats Act which would cut in half the number of small businesses that can be regulated by the National Labor Relations Board. The bill is now eligible to be considered on the House floor. You can read more about my bill protecting small businesses from NLRB regulations here.
I had the opportunity later in the markup to highlight the many faults in the Job Corps program. Job Corps was supposed to help Americans find employment; however, it has a meager 6% success rate. We cannot afford to keep funding federal programs that are not producing results for Americans.
As Chairman of the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions, I held a hearing where we discussed how the law can better protect workers and small businesses. Under the self-described "most pro-union President in history",our nation's businesses will continue to suffer, and more American workers will lose their jobs. Republicans must be the party that stands unequivocally for the right to work without being forced to join a union, pay union dues, or have your union dues used for political causes and candidates that you do not support.
