Last week, House Republicans were hard at work on Capitol Hill, passing legislation on behalf of the American people and holding radical Democrats accountable.
On Wednesday, President Biden's son Hunter, gave a speech at the U.S. Senate and defied a Congressional subpoena which called him to Capitol Hill for a transcribed, closed-door deposition as part of the ongoing investigation into Biden family corruption. To be clear, his statement was a joke, and for him to show up on Capitol Hill, read a statement, take no questions from the press, get back in the car and leave D.C. demonstrates how arrogant he is about the seriousness of what's going on. Any other American out there, who defies a Congressional subpoena, would be held in Contempt of Congress, and they would be prosecuted by the Department of Justice. Hunter Biden is not above the law. Donald Trump Jr. was deposed by House Democrats five times, without being forced to comply through an impeachment inquiry. We have the goods on Hunter Biden. He needs to come in and answer questions and it is time to hold Hunter in Contempt of Congress.
Subsequently, the House of Representatives voted to formalize the impeachment inquiry into President Biden. This was about giving the House full investigative powers to finish our business. We've already uncovered so much. Joe Biden used his son and his brother to make millions of dollars overseas. They laundered it through twenty LLCs. We have the bank records. The banks themselves were so concerned about the money laundering and tax evasion happening that they filed 170 suspicious activity reports. We have those reports as well. All of this was done to get money to Joe Biden. He used his office in a public corruption, pay-for-play scheme. His son and his brother were operating as unregistered foreign agents which is a violation of federal law. Joe Biden knows this, and he allowed it to occur anyway. He is a coconspirator in violations of federal law, who took bribes from foreign countries and companies to use his office for influence-peddling. That's the case.
We also passed H.Res.927 to condemn the anti-Semitism of the college presidents who testified at the now infamous House Education and Workforce Committee two weeks ago. Frankly, what Harvard President Claudine Gay said in committee was an absolute travesty. You must acknowledge and call-out anti-Semitism when you see it, and anti-Semitism must be held accountable on all of our college campuses. The Harvard Code of Conduct gives her the necessary room to hold those students accountable, but she simply doesn't want to do it. She would rather appease the radicals within her institution. Harvard has a responsibility to get rid of her and if they won't do it, it will be to their own detriment.
Last week, the out-of-control humanitarian and national security crisis on our borders worsened. As of today, it is now 221 days since your House Republican majority passed our solution to Biden's self-imposed border crisis–H.R. 2, "The Secure The Border Act of 2023." The Senate has still refused to consider our proposal. The situation is dire, yet the upper chamber would rather deflect and ignore, instead of providing meaningful solutions that will benefit all Americans. To put this in perspective, just days ago, DHS and CBP warned border patrol agents to "exercise extreme caution" while on patrol due to "possible armed subjects approaching the border with possible explosive devices." Millions of unvetted "gotaways" have entered our country under President Biden. How many terrorists were included in that group? We need border security now!
