Quote of the Day

"The Democrats, who have controlled Congress for decades, have refused to reform Social Security in order to shore it up and get that major debt obligation off our balance sheets. They have attacked and regularly railed against major U.S. corporations and businesses that employ millions of people and keep this economy going.

The Democrats are constantly saying that John McCain and the Republicans have no ideas. But what are their ideas? Higher taxes, which we are now told by their vice presidential nominee is a patriotic duty. More spending. Putting the government in charge of more and more. That’s right -- the same government that can’t run veterans’ hospitals, the same government that has brought you the IRS and the Department of Motor Vehicles, the same government that has imposed an oil embargo against our economy for the past quarter century!

Leftwing Democrats have no clue about how the free market works. Remember the latest big increase in the minimum wage that went into effect recently? Guess what happened – we got a big jump in unemployment and those most negatively impacted were teenagers and minorities.

And what exactly set off this current round of financial chaos? Major speculation in the housing market – which can be traced back to economic policies mandated by Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, policies that George Bush and John McCain tried to correct in 2003 and 2005"
