Information Alert: Back to school warning

The Family Foundation of Virginia has a warning for parents who may be unprepared for the onslaught of liberal indoctrination which their children may be be facing.
"The majority of families in Virginia this week are sending their children back to school. Most will send their children off to the local public school with the hope that will receive a quality education. In many cases, they will. Unfortunately, that education sometimes includes far more than many parents bargain for.

Recently, the organization Richmond Organization for Sexual Minority Youth held a seminar for teachers and counselors called “Working with Sexual Minority Youth.”

In its presentation, the group encouraged teachers and counselors to ask kids about their sexuality and, if they say that “homosexuality is a sin,” the counselors were instructed to give the kids a DVD entitled “Because the Bible Tells Me So,” which, according to ROSMY, “presents a powerful case for misuse of the Bible against gays.” In other words, school counselors and teachers are being told to undermine the Biblical instruction some kids learn at home and in their churches!

In addition, copies of the DVD are available in many school libraries.

It is highly likely that this is not just happening in Richmond, but that some teachers and counselors in schools across Virginia are being instructed to undermine the values you are teaching at home.

Unfortunately, many working families in Virginia do not have the financial ability to send their children to a school that supports their value system. Because elected officials refuse to grant freedom of choice to families, many children are stuck in either failing schools or schools that actually work against parents.

As you send your children back to school this week, I urge you to talk with them about what they are being told in the classroom or in the counselor’s office about homosexuality and other important issues. You may be shocked to find out what is happening in your own local school. And if your values are being attacked, please let us know. We want to be able to resource you with the information and support that you need to protect your rights and the rights of your children in school!"
