U.S. Sen. George Voinovich of Ohio addressed more than 100 members of the NFRW Board of Directors at the fall board meeting Sept. 1 in Minneapolis-St Paul, during the week of the Republican National Convention.

Voinovich encouraged members to work hand-in-hand with the Republican Party at the grassroots this fall, saying that Barack Obama has no management experience and is "just not qualified to be president, it's just as simple as that." Voinovich, who has served with both John McCain and Obama in the U.S. Senate, talked of his enthusiastic support of the McCain-Palin ticket:

"Senator McCain has the ability to be independent, to not be influenced by the herd mentality, to do what's in the best interest of this country. We need someone who's willing to stand up and tell it like it is. He has that characteristic we need so much today. People are longing for someone at the White House who knows what ordinary citizens go through, and Sarah Palin understands what ordinary citizens confront."
