Last month, I took a trip to the southern border in Eagle Pass, Texas with Tennessee sheriffs, mayors and officials to see the border crisis firsthand. The devastation and destruction that we saw was unbelievable—and far worse than when we were there nearly two years ago. The Biden Administration has released over nine million illegal immigrants into the country—many of whom we don't even have information on who they are or what risks they pose. Governor Greg Abbott's Operation Lone Star is working in Eagle Pass because they're enforcing the law, but we need a president who will do that nationwide. This unprecedented crisis has got to come to an end. Americans need to see firsthand the disaster that Biden has created at the border, and it's unfathomable that an Administration would allow this to happen. |
It is unconscionable that illegal immigrants that break our laws and endanger our communities are allowed to remain in the U.S. That's why, last month, I introduced the Protect Our Communities From DUIs Act, legislation to both prevent illegal immigrants who have committed DUI from entering the U.S. and to automatically deport illegal immigrants who commit DUI within the United States. This legislation has successfully passed the U.S. House of Representatives thanks to the efforts of Representative Barry Moore (R-AL-02). Our nation is seeing a surge in violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants, and they are not being held accountable. President Joe Biden has drastically decreased deportations, even saying that he would fire ICE agents who deported criminal illegal aliens who have not committed felonies because, in his view, ICE agents should "only arrest for the purpose of dealing with a felony that's been committed, and I do not count drunk driving as a felony." This commonsense legislation will help our nation hold illegal immigrants accountable.
