Restoring America's Energy Independence
Gas prices at the pump are on the rise again, and families are beginning to worry about the costs to heat their homes this winter. According to the Biden Administration's own forecasts, natural gas heating costs will increase by 28% over last winter, heating oil by 27%, and electric heat by another 10%.
Meanwhile, President Biden is touting the so-called "Inflation Reduction Act" he signed into law as a win for defeating the so-called "climate crisis." Economists say it will do nothing to reduce inflation, but it will hand out hundreds of billions of your tax dollars to special interests like "green" energy companies.
Other "solutions" from the Biden Administration, like trying to force Americans to buy electric vehicles and solar panels, are not practical solutions at all. Those expensive purchases are out-of-reach for average Americans and would only further strain family budgets.
To combat this madness, I signed onto House Republican Whip Steve Scalise's (R-LA) letter to President Biden with 128 other House Republicans. The letter demands that the Democrat Party finally declares a cease-fire on its war on American energy. One of our solutions is to establish a full-bodied offshore energy leasing plan. This plan of action would encourage gas exploration and production here at home, which would relieve the crushing financial pressure of Biden's irresponsible and reckless policies on American taxpayers.
