One Million Moms: Current Helm Paint Commercial Is Unacceptable!

The current Helm Paint commercial includes a double entendre that is inappropriate and completely unnecessary. Foul language (or the implication thereof) is not needed in this or any commercial, but that is obviously what Helm Paint intended with their play on words.

It is inexcusable that Helm Paint chose to include phrases that sound just like curse words and to end its ad with viewers understanding exactly what was implied:

"Do we have paint? Helm yeah -- we've got paint! We've got the best quality Benjamin Moore paint in stock and ready to go. Helm yeah – we can match that color. We can match any paint color! Window treatments, plantation shutters and blinds, and top quality wallcovering. Helm Paint & Decorating has all you need. From our family to yours, thank you for being a Helm Paint & Benjamin Moore customer."

This type of advertising is entirely uncalled for and irresponsible. Helm Paint has deliberately decided to produce controversial advertisements instead of wholesome ones.

What's worse, Helm Paint's advertisements air during prime time, when families are most likely to be watching. How damaging and destructive to children! Helm Paint should be more responsible in its marketing decisions.

As a parent and a consumer, let Helm Paint know that you are offended that the company cares more about financial gain than the impression made on our children.

Apparently, Helm Paint's executives do not care about what children hear, as long as its ad puts money in their pockets. Everyone knows kids repeat what they hear. This ad demonstrates weak marketing, and Helm Paint should have the corporate responsibility not to use an age-old euphemism that offends families.

Let them know that as a parent and a consumer, you are disgusted by their recent marketing choices.
