Dan Stein, Federation for American Immigration Reform: The Senate is blocking a border security bill that could fix the border crisis

It has been more than a year H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, passed the House. The Secure the Border Act is border security legislation that would provide actual solutions to the border crisis.

But the Senate refuses to bring the bill up for a vote!

Instead, elected officials like Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer are pushing a border bill – the Lankford-Murphy-Sinema Bill – that would only exacerbate the illegal immigration crisis.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform's (FAIR) government relations team has reviewed this inferior bill to show you just how much it falls short.

The magnitude of the damage from the Senate's refusal  to act cannot be overstated. Since May 2023, when the House passed H.R. 2, more than 3.5 million illegal aliens have crossed our borders.  The southern border has grown as a hotspot for infiltration by criminals and terrorists. In fiscal year 2023 alone, Border Patrol encountered 169 known or suspected terrorists attempting to illegally cross the southern border, along with 90 so far this fiscal year.

This must end.

Enacting H.R. 2 is critical to securing our borders and stopping this mayhem.  That is why the Federation for American Immigration Reform is fighting for the passage of this very important bill.
