Delegate Phillip Scott Announces School Choice Legislation

Delegate Phillip Scott is bringing back the most comprehensive School Choice bill Virginia has seen.

Spotsylvania, VA - Today, Delegate Phillip Scott, who was the Chief Patron of HB 982 in the 2022 regular session, has announced he will resubmit his school choice legislation.

"Children across the Commonwealth deserve access to high quality education." Scott said. "For too long, parents have been stuck; they have been forced to stay in schools which fail their children simply because of their zip code."

"This will be a huge win for all Virginians. Moving forward, I hope our education system will be held accountable and made transparent. With the resubmission of this bill, we strive towards hope and opportunity in Virginia education."

Scott will submit this legislation for the 2023 General Assembly Session, making it a top priority in his conservative, family first agenda.

Phillip Scott is currently the sitting delegate representing Virginia's 88th House District, serving on the Committee on Health Welfare and Institutions, Committee on Privileges and Elections, and the Committee on Counties, Cities, and Towns. Prior to running for the House of Delegates, Phillip served his local community by joining the Board of Directors of his POA and served 2 terms in various roles including Treasurer and President. Phillip volunteered on various committees in his POA as well. Additionally, he served on the Spotsylvania County Citizens Budget Review Committee. Phillip wanted to impact his larger community and his state. His strong conservative values, his passion to protect the unborn, his desire to protect personal freedoms and rights, compelled him to step up and serve. He wants to make an impact for his fellow Virginians, and for the future of his daughters.
