The so-called Climate Crisis "caused" by carbon dioxide, and the resulting Paris Climate Accords, always seemed somewhat strange. As any high school biology student knows, the oxygen cycle and the carbon dioxide cycle, acting separately but dependent on each other are two of the biogeochemical cycles on Earth that make life possible.
The Climate Accords are not one-size fits all. Exempting major nations – such as all of the developing world, China, India and on – when at least China is constructing a rumored two coal plants a week, and other nations, desperate for power for homes and industries, are reverting to that tried and true coal fuel source – or in the case of some in Africa – cow dung. If CO2 is a gas, doesn't it circulate in the air? World-wide?
The solution, we have been told, is to sacrifice. First go the cows and their nasty "methane eruptions". Then go the farms, vast tracks of land that require nitrogen fertilizer to get maximum crop yields to feed our own populations and others across the globe where food production isn't as possible or adequate.
\
Another solution: eat insects or lab-grown "meat". If anyone has researched the parasitology of insects grown for food in Europe, a cricket or locust will never pass your lips. As to lab-grown meat, ever heard of pink slime? This is worse.
For years, response flipped between "oh, woe are we" and 'crickets' (not the bugs). Or censorship, loss of jobs, loss of funding for research if one dared question "climate change as caused by humans".
The UN put in its 'two cents' (or suggesting trillions be spent, depending upon how one counts) with Agenda 21, followed by Agenda 2030 and its "17 Sustainability Goals". Another that favors this approach is the World Economic Forum and its Fourth Industrial Revolution (we are, of course, merely "useless humans"). This bunch added another solution – depopulation – with a suggested reduction of 7.5 billion people (with a B), leaving 500,000 slaves (how? Famine, disease, loss of access to water – the newest addition to the list – combined with transhumanism – and brainwashing or outright mind control).
The silence finally seems to be ending. First came the farmers – tractor caravans protesting in the Netherlands where 30% of cows and up to 60% of their land were to be "removed" from private hands. Then Poland (similarities here to the Canadian truckers and COVID), and now a reported 65 countries have responded with protests from farmers (both against "green new deals" and bad trade policies).
At least 1,000 highly reputable, internationally recognized climatologists have signed a petition disavowing this "hoax/sham, etc." A more recent arrival on the scene is the "CO2x Coalition" based in Arlington, Virginia but reaching nationwide, staffed with experts in the relevant fields. Their focus is four-fold: educating leaders (legislators), action in the Courts, educating the grassroots, and developing curriculum that is FACT-BASED, statistically supported. For Virginia, and Governor Youngkin's fight against our participation in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) and the Virginia Clean Economy Plan (two that follow in California's sorry footsteps, the CO2 Coalition developed a 28-page statistically (since 1895) scientific analysis of Virginia's climate history, well worth downloading ("Virginia and Climate Change – Separating Fact from Fiction"). Climatologically, we're doing quite well – no serious climate events since the 1930's.
Wish there was space for more, but let's end with this thought, expressed in 1971 in Rio (UN Conference). "Global warming was merely an invented ruse to force change." And "in searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill."
